The El Camino Shotokan Dojo is a member dojo of Shotokan Karate of America, a not-for-profit organization teaching karate in the U.S. since 1955. The El Camino Shotokan Dojo held its first practice at the El Camino YMCA on September 5, 2023.
We teach Shotokan Karate as a traditional martial art. Our practice emphasizes the development of mental strength and natural, realistic techniques. We are not a commercial karate school. We do not require a contract and will not sell you a package or a program. Students at all levels practice together, helping each other improve and become more confident.
Beginners are always welcome! You can start practicing at any age (7+). As a beginner you’ll learn basic stances, techniques and forms. Within a short time, you’ll join the group for the full practice. No special equipment is needed; Just wear comfortable clothing suitable for vigorous exercise. To start practicing with us, contact Curt Wvong or drop by the El Camino YMCA.
Joining is easy – just visit us at the El Camino YMCA, 2400 Grant Road, Mountain View, California
